Short Track Speed Skating Global Club Competition

Dear Friends,

The Global Club Competition in 2001 was successful. Originally it was intended to be a one-time event. Now based on its success the International Skating Union has decided to consider such a major Club Event on a biannual basis.

So every 2-years we can find out who is the "Best Club in the World"! To initiate the Global Club Competition as a repeating Event it was an easy decision to start this series there where the basis was made.
Therefore the 2003 Global Club Competition will be held in Mannheim, Germany, on November 21-23. It is strongly supported by the International Skating Union and seen as the major Event to recognize the Clubs as the basis of our Sport.

The organization has started and is on its way to organize an Event as good as in 2001. They can only do their job with your help. Please note these dates in your Calendar, keep these dates free from our competitions and make sure that your club participates in the Worlds Biggest Club Event. Details on the Competition will be mailed on short notice. In general the principle will be the same. All categories count for the Club Classification, the distances will be skated according to the All Finals System, each Club makes its own arrangements, etc.

The future of the Global Club Competition will no doubt be a major topic during the Event. Further it is the intention to make as much as possible information on short track, equipment, competitions and training available for clubs at an information market.

So remember these dates November 21, 22 and 23 , 2003 and see you in Mannheim.

regards,

Reinier Oostheim
